Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will utilize their strong technical background to facilitate secure data transfers to help protect the nation. This is a principal-level position with direct client interactions that will blend software assessment, development, and remediation with research and advising.
This position will utilize a mix of skills that will require the software engineer to understand a system's entire context and the associated risks and design solutions to the problems found. The software engineer will help define, design, and develop solutions that enable data to be passed to processing systems. This position requires coding experience, but the day-to-day will be software engineering focused. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Linux system security and have excellent writing skills.
The qualifications for the Principal Software Engineer include responsibility for research and development programs and activities, a degree in engineering, scientific, or systems management discipline, a minimum of 10 years of experience with increasing responsibility in the field of Science & Engineering or Computer Science, and personal experience in project planning.
Requirements:
BS degree in engineering or scientific discipline (4 years of professional experience may be substituted for a BS degree) and 10+ years of professional experience.
